M8: Peace

After a long day on the road (by wagon) we arrived in Athens. This morning, after getting back from Paris I caught a ride from a nice apple seller. I wanted to explore Athens Architecture during my 3 day weekend. The streets were dark and stars twinkled in the sky. I curled up on a bag of apples and fell asleep..... I awoke to the loud sound of peddlers selling the days goods. Even though it was just past dawn the market place was full of people. I stepped out of the wagon and into the sunlight.
As I walked down the street I promptly noticed a caboodle of Ionic columns on the churches and theaters. The pillars were thin and elegant with scroll designs at the top. Soon I came upon a the Erechtheum, a temple built in Poseidon's honor. I walked up to it and I noticed that it was still under construction. Someone handed me a chisel and shoved me up to a partly finished pillar. He then motioned to another completed pillar. It was a perfect carving of a goddess, about 20 feet tall. I walked up to my pillar and chopped her perfect nose off right away.
After being yelled at by about 10 old sweaty Greek guys I trudged away from the city. I had been permanently banned from ever setting foot within 100 feet of Athens. I think I should stay in Sparta.
