M14: Mohenjodaro

After surviving the flood I decided to do something relaxing by going to Mohenjodaro. Mohenjodaro was an ancient civilization in northwest India. I said was because it mysteriously disappeared. I traveled back in time to figure out where all the people went. I decided I would go back in time right before they vanished. When I got there everybody was super excited, and they all looked slightly Asiatic. They had just built a great bathe that looked a lot like a swimming pool. It was actually amazing . It was about 12x7 m. and 2.4 m. deep. There were 2 stone staircases leading into it.  The the builders told me that it would be used to relax and to celebrate ceremonies. There was only one problem. No one new how to swim.
I decided I would help Mohenjodaro by teaching everyone how to swim. Diving into the crystal clear water, I started showing everybody what to do. They all smiled at me, with blank looks on their faces, and nodded. I explained how to stay afloat and they all seemed to understand. They were really excited to start swimming, so I got out of the water and motioned for them to get in. One by one, they all jumped in. Then they all started screaming, but for some reason I couldn't understand them. I thought maybe they were all screaming with happiness. All of a sudden, the town got very quiet, and I realized they were all drowning. My Lifeguard training kicked in and I dragged everybody out. Luckily I knew CPR and in no time they were all able to breath.
It turned out that my automatic translator wasn't working because of the water and nobody could understand me when I tried to teach them how to swim. After I saved everyone's life, they all got super mad at me and left Mohejodaro for good. I guess that explains where all the people went. It turns out I was responsible for destroying a great civilization. Oops.

  1. Sometimes when I hear people screaming in terror, afraid for their lives, I mistake it for happiness.
